DETAILED ITINERARY:
DAY 1: ARRIVAL
INDIVIDUAL ARRIVAL, get together and visit BUCHAREST CAPITAL CITY
Our first day is in Bucharest. Depending your arrival we will organize a “get together” meeting in a nice restaurant for short presentations. Then we will have a walking tour of the main city of Romania, before a welcome dinner in a nice restaurant. Time to know each other, to plan our next days and to review the program.

DAY 2: Bucharest to Tusnad, visiting Sinaia and Brasov (3 hours drive)
After breakfast we will be transferred by car or by train to Brasov. A former fortified city during the middle age, Brasov is now one of the most visited cities in Romania. We will stroll the small streets, find the stories of the local communities and have lunch in the historical area. After lunch we have time for another hike/snowshoes in the most visited reserve of the city: Tampa Mountain. From above we have a great view over the historical city center.

In the evening we will be transferred to Tusnad – a bath resort in the Carpathians.

DAY 3: Discover the treasures around Tusnad (6/10 hours hike/snowshoeing)
Today we will have our first day of long snowshoeing experience.
After breakfast we will start climbing the volcano mountain near the bath resort. On top, after a long hike and snowshoeing, we will find St. Ana Lake, our only volcano lake. We will start from ~500m altitude and we will arrive at 1,100m altitude, crossing a wild forest. A natural reserve with plants from the old volcano time can be visited nearby, after lunch. On the way back we will use another path for returning in Tusnad. In the evening we will relax in a thermal bath in the resort.

DAY 4: Hiking in Harghita area (8/12 hours hike)
After breakfast we will be transferred for one hour in another great area for winter tours.
We will star our day route in Harghita Bai resort and end in Izvoare resort, crossing Harghita Mountains. It is one of the most appreciated areas for the winter activities, as it is known as “the little Siberia”. On the way we will reach the ski resort Madaras and the 1,800m altitude peak. At the end of the route we will end our day in a winter manor. Our hosts are cooking hunting dishes and they have a good collection of wines.

DAY 5: visit a hunting resort and hiking around (4/5 hrs hiking)
After breakfast we will visit a hunting resort near the chalet and we can admire the wild animals. Then we are continuing our snowshoeing experience into the wild. We will cross again the mountains for arriving in Odorheiu Secuiesc – the most important city in the area. This will be the end of our adventure.

In the evening we will meet for the farewell dinner.

DAY 6: Return to Bucharest and farewell
Depending your flight arrangements we will leave the beautiful city of Brasov for returning to the airport.
